June 06, 2018. Every year we look forward to a new beginning. A new academic year. This year is no different. This Orientation we were privileged to have Fr. Julias Arackal as our Chief Guest. Father spoke of topics highly relevant in these modern times. His words were “There is no success. There is only faith and commitment!”. He stressed on the importance of family bonds, love that exists, your presence physical and emotional, wherever they are. There is nothing like success – only commitment and faith – Mother Teresa. God has sent us to be committed and faithful. Faithfulness starts from home. Parents should be committed to one another. This lesson starts from home. A teacher is a role in life. A child has to live in this society being broad minded and to serve and hence become a citizen for the community.

ENVIRONMENT DAY 2018

July 13, 2018. The Environment day was an enriching experience for the children. The chief guests of the day were Fr. Joy Penickaparambil CMI, Vice Principal & HOD of P.Ed, Christ College, Irinjalakuda, Our beloved principal, Fr. Shaju Edamana CMI , Fr. Pauly Thazhatha, the Spiritual Director, DEVAMATHA CMI International School. The day began with a welcome and prayer, following which Fr. Joy addressed the gathering with his words of advice to help protect and save nature. He said “Nature was mother”. A life lived well is when we leave back something that is beneficial for the future generations. If we plant a tree, when we leave this material world the tree remains on earth offering clean air, fresh water and a healthy habitat for our children. That’s the biggest contribution one can easily do for the world. It’s easy but at the same time requires patience, love, care and consistency to achieve this small good deed. Mr. Varghese spoke of the importance of why nature is not a choice it’s a necessity today and it’s a matter of life and death. A man consumes 510 liters of oxygen per day. 1 cent plot of land gets 1,20,000 liters of rainwater in a year. It’s sad that we don’t implement systems to make sure that we save / use this water effectively. The world cup saw 32 teams compete with each other and eventually one team win. In his farm, he said during the world cup, he planted 32 jackfruit trees, one in name of every country that played the football this year. Here, not one but all teams are winners, as a single jackfruit tree releases 13.63 ton oxygen in a year. Imagine the amount of good Mr. Varghese’s world cup farm will do for the world in a year! After this Fr. Joy Penickaparambil, led the children to the campus outside the school to plant the mango tree saplings. The day ended with felicitations for Fr. Joy Penickaparambil, the vote of thanks and national anthem.
